Saying that Alex Powers loved being a Sea Queen is an understatement. The energy, spirit, and opportunities that carried her through her time at PV High were truly priceless. From four years of varsity water polo and drama, to class council, Spanish honors society and the Red Tide she basically lived on campus and successfully would say that she kept herself busy.

The real program that tied a bow around her elective bag of goodies though was, without a doubt, Live from 205. As a general assignment reporter and sports anchor, Alex was introduced to situations and people she NEVER thought she would be presented to.

She owes her everything to the show not only for expanding her horizons, and making her PV experience uniquely respected, but for also creating in her a passion for broadcast journalism she would never have discovered otherwise.

Alex is now transitioning herself from a Sea King to a USC Trojan and is, well, ecstatic!

She was recruited as a women's water polo athlete and was accepted into the Annenberg school of Communications, majoring in Broadcast Journalism. She plans on meshing the two by reporting, filming, and uploading broadcasts for both the men and women's water polo teams during their seasons.

And with her extra time? Alex is looking forward to (hopefully) becoming a part of the schools news station, television show, Greek life, football fan club, and spirit team.

Who knows where she will be in five years, but, if all goes as planned, she might just show up on TRL, Extra!, or Access Hollywood.

What she does know now though is that she is so so lucky she was given the chance to join (and re-join) the Live from 205 program and dedicates her journey Mr. Vela for his drive, passion, and enthusiasm, Mike and Josh for being her shoulders to lean on, to Joe for his insanity, and to the many other life-long friends she made in the process.

-Tridents Up! And Fight On!

PS. Don't worry, she'll be keeping 205 near and dear and will most definitely be tuning to 12 weekly.

She loves you ALL!
